Determination of the degree of incapacity to function as a housewife

A claims officer of the National Insurance Institute will decide whether the insured woman is “disabled ” or a “^60^”, and will determine her degree of incapacity after consulting with an accredited doctor and with a rehabilitation officer of the NII. The possible degrees of incapacity are: 60%, 65%, 74% and 100%.

In determining the degree of incapacity to function as a disabled housewife, the extent to which the housewife’s impairments affect her ability to perform household functions is taken into account when the housewife’s functional ability is examined at a Functional Ability Institute.

Determining a degree of incapacity for a limited period

When the medical or functional condition of the disabled housewife is not stable, the claims officer is authorized to determine a degree of incapacity for a limited period, for a maximum of two years. At the end of that period the degree of incapacity will be re-examined.

Incapacity of less than 50% does not entitle a person to a disability pension.
